I still hang on to hope
that you'll be right there
sitting across the room
smiling at me
crocheting your blankets
and telling me jokes
bringing out the best in me
bringing out the best in me
but each time I look
there's an empty space
glaring, and taunting me
I still hang on to hope
when I unlock the door
and expect you'll be sitting right there
saying "your tea is hot, how did it go...
how pretty you look today.."
it's a stab to the heart when I know I'm alone
and Curly comes greeting me.
I still hang on to hope when
I think through the day
"can't wait to tell Madre,
she'll know what to say"
cause you bring out the best in me
you bring out the best in me
I still hang on to hope
as I sit alone...the silence it hurts
night after night
waitin for you to come home to me
cause you bring out the best in me
Madre, keep watch over me

Come Go With Me...
I am you, you are me
sister-friend, come go with me
swimming in dreams, reachin for stars
unity's our business, near or far
I'll have your back and you'll have mine
miles and distance will collide in time
take my hand across that finish line
let's swallow that fear of failin
girl, now's our time
I am you, you are me
sister-friend, come go with me
In the midst of chaos, let's chase those dreams
yeah, we'll crush that doubt...
'cause now it's you and me
sister-friend come go with me....
They're callin our names..do ya hear the screams?
Afraid I'll spill those lies?...
I see clear your face in my past
your wrongs and rights
distance has made me wise
to you and your revolving door
of go away - come back sentiments
even now as I am to speak
only when spoken to
I see in no uncertain terms
your manipulation of undivided
and unconditional love
you knew not what you did
as ignorance was your guide
your wrongs and rights
distance has made me wise
to you and your revolving door
of go away - come back sentiments
even now as I am to speak
only when spoken to
I see in no uncertain terms
your manipulation of undivided
and unconditional love
you knew not what you did
as ignorance was your guide
self-centeredness at your side
but in these here moments you
know the thoughts, words, and actions
that created a division of people
and how you made her dizzy with
jealousy because in fact, her gut
was right, as was mine
you did not break the ties
before that Saturday we had tea
you reached out yet,
but in these here moments you
know the thoughts, words, and actions
that created a division of people
and how you made her dizzy with
jealousy because in fact, her gut
was right, as was mine
you did not break the ties
before that Saturday we had tea
you reached out yet,
I knew the lies inside
Yeah, I knew the lies inside
so now you keep your distance
are you afraid I'll spill your lies?
so now you keep your distance
are you afraid I'll spill your lies?
Afraid I'll spill those lies...

Hope Dancing Alone
Dreams never die
relationships that have
been cast upon
willowly words
in lavender fields
of delusion and disaster
they cease to exist
patterns repeat
and hearts ...they break
those cracks I fill
no novice to pain
I walk forward
with your false laughter
and choppy, chided syllables
though I continue to hope
on the doorstep
in the pouring rains of the unknown

The Danger in Faith
I see your face as I look in the mirror
and your shadow follows me
as I try not to look over my shoulder
Deceit and deception, you know their name
the hurt inside spills over, do you not know shame
a jagged sword that sly sweet tongue
a swift slap in the face
a line, I now draw in the cement
for which you will never ever erase
I called you friend for some years now
disappointment deeply breathes from every pore
Your deception mocked my faith time and again
Still I mourn a loss of what might've been
No more, "I'll be seein' ya"
This is the End
May the blessings of your day be many.

Dreams
Dreams
near and far
scamper through
the fields of my heart
I make wishes upon
the dandelions
while positivity reigns
in my presence
it is absolute
I declare peace
hold hope near
breathing in the
paradigm of magic
before me ...

Endometriosis Awareness Month
My poetry writing has been neglected, or shall I say put on hold, for the past few months as I wrote The Endo Project: Stories of Strength and Hope. As March is now Endometriosis Awareness Month, I have been trying to spread the word about this ghastly disease in hopes of bringing validation to those who suffer in silence...as well as education to those who do not yet understand the severity of this disease. I hope you will follow my link to my page and show your support for the many that suffer. I am in it to end it.
Keep checking back as I have new projects in the works....*hint, hint....involving the MTV Music Awards.
Happy Saturday.

The Endo Project is now AVAILABLE!!
The Endo Project is finally, finally complete!! My hard work has paid off. It is available now! Check out my author spotlight for a preview!!
Get up close and personal with woman who have suffered or are suffering with the incurable disease, Endometriosis. This book chronicles the struggles of many women through narratives, monologues, and poetry. If you are suffering with this disease, it may bring you validation or comfort in knowing that you are not alone in your fight. If you have never heard of this disease, come face to face with women who remain strong in the darkness of an incurable, little known disease. Through the courage of others, we can bring about awareness, compassion, and advocate for a cure. Join us on our journey.

The Endometriosis Project
Aside from some tricky formatting issues, "The Endometriosis Project: Stories of Strength and Hope" is now complete. It is a great relief that I managed to finish it in time for Endo Awareness month in March. I am beyond exhausted today and feeling quite cross-eyed but, I feel very proud to have stepped out of my normal poetry writing comfort zone into such a super project that has put me in touch with some really powerful, faithful....and strong women. The book chronicles the journies of 20 women who have struggled and/or are struggling with this disease. The project doesn't stop here either. It will only get bigger and better. The process has been full of joy and pain...and so, so healing. I can't wait to announce the release. Stay tuned. :)

Sweet!!
I am super excited that I have already received about ten submissions for my Endo Project - personal stories of struggle and triumph through poetry, art and narrative form . I never cease to be amazed at the strength of women who fight this disease and really, any person that fights any disease for that matter. This book means so much to me. It's healing and brings hope for a disease with no cure!! If you want to share your story of struggle or triumph battling Endometriosis, please email me at TheEndoProject@aol.com or you can find me on facebook.
In the meantime.... a little poetry ....
Raindrops kiss my face
cooling a fever
bringing sweet songs
of fond memories
to a contempletive heart
my dreams dance with hope today
my eyes glistening with stories
....yet to be told

Endometriosis - Project.
Hey readers, I am working on a very important project for 2012. I want to compile the stories of other women and/or men who have suffered and/or triumphed in the face of this disease - endometriosis. You can depict your journey however you please...in poetry form, narrative, art...you name it. I will be putting a book together that I will self-publish to help spread AWARENESS for this disease. If you are interested in being a part of this project, please let me know. Many of you who have suffered with this disease may already have "your story" written out but if not, you'll have some time to get your story together - if you wish. It can be as short or as long as you would like. It's your story and your message. Education is the key. I hope to reach those who are struggling and need validation.
