Sweet!!

I am super excited that I have already received about ten submissions for my Endo Project - personal stories of struggle and triumph through poetry, art and narrative form .  I never cease to be amazed at the strength of women who fight this disease and really, any person that fights any disease for that matter.  This book means so much to me.  It's healing and brings hope for a disease with no cure!!  If you want to share your story of struggle or triumph battling Endometriosis, please email me at TheEndoProject@aol.com or you can find me on facebook.

In the meantime.... a little poetry ....

Raindrops kiss my face
cooling a fever
bringing sweet songs
of fond memories
to a contempletive heart
my dreams dance with hope today
my eyes glistening with stories
....yet to be told

Endometriosis - Project.

Hey readers, I am working on a very important project for 2012.  I want to compile the stories of other women and/or men who have suffered and/or triumphed in the face of this disease - endometriosis.  You can depict your journey however you please...in poetry form, narrative, art...you name it.  I will be putting  a book together that I will self-publish to help spread AWARENESS for this disease.  If you are interested in being a part of this project, please let me know.  Many of you who have suffered with this disease may already have "your story" written out but if not, you'll have some time to get your story together - if you wish.  It can be as short or as long as you would like.  It's your story and your message.   Education is the key.  I hope to reach those who are struggling and need validation.

Take, take, take....

Some people learn where to draw the line immediately.  For some, it takes days, weeks...and for some of us it can take YEARS.  I find it amazing how we can know another human being so well...their thoughts and what they want or need just by their mannerisms...and at the same time, how incredibly sad it can be that they in turn know NOTHING about you and only present themselves in your life when they need something and can completely cut you off when you become inconvenient by needing something in return.  Have you ever found yourself in this kind of a situation?  I've decided, it's not really my place to be everyone's soft place to fall.  The burden is too heavy and the consequences too detrimental to my psyche, my heart, and my well-being.  Mantra of the day...if you're not into give and take then, I'll be seein' ya.

Shining Acceptance

I waited for your hand, your heart
craving your remembrance
as my heart sat broken
amidst tears and turmoil
though, I sauntered along
a path of bitter-sweet
stealing moments of happy
here and there
biding my time, soaking up
rays of serenity
those times of peace exist more
as I scamper along this path, this life
and open my heart to the freedom
of acceptance, the acceptance
to love and be loved once again

It is Time.....

it is time....

to flee from reality

bask in the blur of dim candle light

camp out on the living room floor

with soft blankets and big, fluffy pillows

throw in some ice cream and chocolate

while pondering ideologies - old and new

slip into the fantasy of a great movie

and trail off to slumber to the great voices

and wondrous minds of cinematography

of long, long ago...

Give Thanks.

Today I give thanks for many things....family, friends, success.

Most importantly, my family.  There is such completeness to life being part of a cohesive, loving unit.  The safety and protection that I feel is beyond words.  I know a few good souls have my back and I, theirs.

Today, I celebrate my success however small it may seem to others.  I feel the magnitude of the fruits of my efforts and appreciate all of those that have encouraged me along the way.  Life is truly what you make of it and I am glowing right now.

I am so grateful for the my friends who keep in touch, especially my far away friends.  It is so nice to be remembered and thought kindly of.

My life, this blessing...is a true gift and I, a testimony to the power of prayer, faith, and love.  Karma has been my friend and I know no words to show how grateful I am for the paths I continue to take.  I appreciate the hard earned lessons and today I can say I am proud of the life I live.  Happy Thanksgiving, friends.  Let us give thanks today and every day.  May the festivities begin.
