Uncertainty Within

hope withers as words agitate
once lyrical musings
from lips thought serene and safe
as rough waters shake the bridge
beneath already unsteady feet
though the dance is not over
as faith steps forward and
sways to an uncertain beat
where timelines and tradition
have no role and chivalry
that forgotten word
swirls in a dizzy mind
questioning uncertain principles
that guide actions of right and wrong
in an effort to make sense of it all
though self removal of that inner battle
brings calm to turbulent waters
a storm may be brewing that could
snuff out faith and quiet music within

"Storms brew that could snuff out faith and quiet the music"...it could but we don't let it. We have strength of will that *knows* that we are in control of our emotions. We also know we must let them be, when they require 'moving' to the ebb and flow of what we are feeling.

Nice work!

N-not sure one can withdraw from an inner battle except by denial of circumstances but I like your questioning and wondering. Nicely done. ~rick

Ah, but faith is rarely snuffed out, it may diminish for a while as hope withers. There are things once thought certain that become uncertain ... and then somehow faith resurges and certainties are again what they once were.

I could read your work endlessly Noelle, I love the way it means different things depending on my mood ... the way my life (love) is going ... there is a mysterious quality that has me returning time and again.

Hey Noelle,
I have read this several times.
I sense you are staying true to yourself through times of difficulty.
Sometimes the direction is 'no direction' and this too is part of the essentials, later we will look back and smile with depth and warmth upon the care that was given us on our behalf during days like these.
That is my response of faith to your lovely work.
Stay true to you in the extreme tension of it all.
Love and hugs to you dear one.

Good stuff... and courageously written.

Where can the positive vibes muse be found?
