Whew!!

I have been quite absent from my blog these past months.  It's not because I have nothing to say but, too much to say.  So many thoughts and so many circumstances yet, I have neglected my the passion that keeps me grounded and sane.   Things have been - great, just busy.  I'm super excited that both of my books are available on lulu.com and my first book "A Portrait of the Human Heart: A Collection of Poetry" is available on itunes and bn.com ( as well as on lulu.com).  I am working on getting my second book "Trailing the Truth Fairy: A Poetic journey" on itunes and bn.com as well.  The formatting aspect is tricky for me to do so I am pulling my hair out at the moment.  I'm also redesigning the cover to "Portrait" so I'm spending a lot of my creative juices on that as well.   Also, I have the opportunity to put my writing in the swag bags that they hand out to celebrities at the awards shows...AMA's are coming up soon.  Keep your fingers (and toes) crossed!!

Still

I still dance
you know?

in the presence
of fear
or amidst
certain danger

I still sing
you know?

In the fledgling
moments of the
here and now
I stake claim
to my spirit
by nurturing
power

I still believe
you know?

as I'm down
for the count
and dreams
are deemed lost

I dance
I sing
I belive

You know?

Poet of the Week!!

SPEECHLESS

are you one of them? (I don't think so)

creating your pain, refusing aid

hiding behind the past, denying the future

the shadow following you trips you up

chained to you like bad memories

buried deep inside, down in the dark

I feel your pain, you aren't alone

I know the weight of your burden

don't let it take your life

I wish I knew what to say

what to do to keep you from giving up

there's so much good (love) right in front of you

don't let it eat us alive

it has only the power you give it

you know you want this...be brave

life is tough and no one gets a pass

Thanks P for sharing your artistry with us!!

Syrum of Sadness

A syrum of sadness spreads
like an infectious diseaese
left untreated..there is no hope
as it attacks vulnerability
leaving questions unanswered
and friendships forgotten
a heart and soul stew in melancholy
mixed with disappointment and
maybe a sprinkling of resentment
when is one to say enough is enough?

Spinning in Circles

a dizzy blur surfaces

you spin in circles exhausting

all spiritual avenues towards coping

as a haunt from the past taunts and

shakes the wet, cool grass beneath your feet

teetering your confidence

you see that ghost, it longs to tether your

heart and grip your silhouette

daring you back to old stomping grounds

as you shudder and shake

he laughs at you, chides

handing you dangerous tools

that may only cause further torture

to your ever searching soul

a spirit dying in vain, hiding in shame

you resist the offering,

though your resistance is weak

you long for a halo of love to

swim above your aching head

and bring sense to the madness

from which there appears

to be no escape

Poet of the Week!

Proud to present my blogger friend Ajey from The Odds are Good but the Goods are Odd

Unable to see any hope on the horizon

Unable to identify the hope at the distance

I am at a place where I cannot return

I am at a place where I cannot express

I am lost at a familiar place

I know the questions of my heart

But, the answers do not satisfy me

The street lamp outlines your body

But, I need to see your eyes

Ever since our lips met

Hope was restored

This paralysed heart

Plagues by jealousy

Needs to be set free

Come, lie with me this night

That I might wish upon

Stars within your eyes

Looking for the next poet of the week..........

Any volunteers for poet of the week?

I could use some something fun and fresh....a song writer maybe????

Let me know.

My own writing has been so neglected.  Still at a loss for words or maybe that's not accurate....just not enjoying what I'm producing.

Be well all.

Poet of the Week - A Tribute

The house lies silent

I grieve your sweet, gentle nature

Shed pure soft-hearted tears

Your loving temperate soul

resides amid the heavens

For you were a life giving Angel

Who nurtured and loved

Those hearts that loved and knew you best

This tender tribute stands

The seeds of Love you shared while here

Will harvest new in Heaven

Lady Topaz

Please visit my new friend, Helena, at Memory Box Creations.  She is grieving the loss of her beloved fur baby and could probably use a little blogger love.  God bless you Helena....may your sweet Lady Topaz rest in peace. xoxo

If you would like to be Poet/Writer/Artist of the Week, please feel free to contact me.  My goal is to support and feature a creative friend each week!!

How do you get past writer's block?

I had this conversation today with a very talented musician friend.  I feel like we all experience it for short periods or even long periods of time.  So many factors come in to play and sometimes it is hard to pin point.  My writing usually comes from a very deep place and to really release it I need freedom.  When I say freedom, I mean freedom from internal and external noise.  I have to find a way to quiet my the noise - external easy ..internal - not so easy.  I meditate often and read Stillness Speaks (I may have mentioned this book before) also, The Power of Now.  These books really are so powerful for me.  Many thanks to aforementioned musician because he introduced those books to me.  Anyway, these books really guide you through catching the noise and negative thoughts in your head.  If you're like me, and I find many creative people are....our thoughts keep going and going and going - IF we let them.  So, aside from these books exercise always helps me clear my mind AND laughter.  Laughter has saved me again, and again and again.  Helping others and connecting with others is key as well.  So these are the things that clear the slate of my mind.  I'm interested, how do you wipe your slate clean and open the door for your creativity?

Blood Song

My heart bleeds of...
loneliness
disappointment
uncertainty
despair
fear
as I gather to make sense of it all....

Yet, my heart sings of...
love
redemption
faith
friendship
fulfillment
strength
and
HOPE
as I accept that I will never make sense of it all.
