'twas just a dream....

his words drip with disinterest
and the truth is revealed
as he fails to look her in the eyes
no questions left to ponder
as all uncertainty is gone
he wants to have it all his way...
the poison of his self-centeredness
has chipped away her desire
to follow through with acquiescence
in hopes of something more
the apparation reveals the truth
in the day light of her mind
'twas just a dream of a lonesome heart
and now it's time to say good bye

Hello, Noelle. Thankfully, I have never been there but your poem was moving.

Hope you are well. Been missing you.

but every now and then the universe in totality cooperates and a dream comes true and then, nothing else matters -!
hugs and sweet love to you Noelle!
You are very amazing here :)
So brave and willing to take a stand.
I do like the way you do it.

Yes, we have all been there, but you state it so wonderfully, Noelle!

ps~ isn't it strange when we feel the need to tell our readers it is not about us, otherwise, they think we've gone off the deep end and are in a bad place. Sometimes, writing is just, writing...I know you know that ;)

I write feelings that don't apply to me a lot of the times. I do find it, my kind of way to express what I feel when I see the images of our world and sense the immense pain from others I don't even know.

I love your writing my friend…

Your writing is powerful and I believe universal for women at some point in their lives. Well done post

Wonderfully expressed. It's no small thing to feel and know when it's time to say goodbye.
