Lazy Days of Summer

The warmth of the sun
shines upon my face
I squint as I shade my eyes
with the back of my hand
a presence of serenity soothes
my shaken spirit this day
as the dream state of summer
dances before me and quietly
it whispers softly in my ear
"catch me if you can"
I smile as I know it is within my reach
and soon I will bask in those
Lazy days of summer
where bathing suits and sun glasses
become the norm and worries -
they swim away disappearing into
the hazy, lazy days of summer

Trailing Flowers....Wishes and Kisses

I dance in the presence of peace
trailing flowers and wishes
and ... the kisses of rain upon my face
in a trance, a breezy existence
my blessings, oh I count you many this night
little pieces of big dreams twinkle
in the here and now...gentle presents
finding their way inside my heart
and upon my slate of life
my blessings, oh I count you many....

Life Transforms

Everything changes
falls apart

then...
falls back into place
again....

My life is
a true testament
to the power
of believing in dreams
and following one's heart

Today, I bless all
who I have known
good and bad
for my experiences
have molded me

I am a product
of an awesome
EXISTENCE

which equates to
peace, bliss....
and all things good!

Warriors, march on.

New Dreams

the halls smell
of death and of deceit
tripping over roots
of the past as I sleep
yet, I reach
the echo of laugher
from the depths
of my dreams
life still coming up roses
so it seems...
yep, still coming up roses....
as I'm breathing new dreams

I am not sorry.

I do not seek solace in the death of another life yet, I do feel at peace with the fact that our military took out a life that spread fear, horror and unprecedented loss for my lifetime.  I relive the day of and days following 9/11 of which were and are incomprehensible.  I still smell the ash in the air of the burning buildings and bodies.  I have no regrets that the man who is the ringleader is now no longer here to hurt our Americans anymore.  America as we know it has changed since then and I mourn for what was.....and I still mourn for the families whose loved ones never made it home...and for the military who was sent over to PROTECT us.  Be grateful people.  This is no time to preach and feel sorry for Bin Laden.  His ways were not changing no matter how much praying we did.  Eye for an eye...

Sweet Freedom

Hello friends,

I received news that I am to be published in the Copperfield Review!!  My work will appear in their spring issue which whill be available on Monday, May 2nd!!  I am so excited about this.  I had completely forgotten that I had submitted to them and even what I submitted so I am really curious to find out what they liked.  So much is happening in my life right now that I can't even explain.  Two new business ventures, my second book published with an awesome cover and I had my first lesson with my new guitar and new guitar instructor....have I mentioned that poetry + music = BLISS??  I learned some new things I didn't know and have been working out my little fingers!!  I'm super excited for my next lesson.  In other news, it's almost summer and I am super excited.  I will have so much going on ... my newest business venture which is currently in the works...will be revealed soon!!

Rock ON!!

Yay!! Finally, finally, finally bought myself my very OWN acoustic electric guitar.  It's a fender and I love it.  I'm making all sorts of noise tonight (sorry neighbors).  AND I'll be starting back up with lessons very soon...with a very good - no, awesome musician.  I can't wait to get back into it.  Already it has lifted my spirit.  Tonight is good...very good.  To top it all off I received my new book "Trailing the Truth Fairy: A Poetic Journey" in the mail today.  I love my cover ...wrestled with ms publisheer but it looks good if I do say so myself.  Now off to do some proofreading!!  Super happy.  Good Night, Noble Guests!! :)

Serenity Times Two

Breathing in the magic of these moments
an active participant in this gift - life
readily I soak in the warmth of the sun
as it raises my serenity meter times two
