Meditation

I have eluded fear, insanity
this heart may mend
though somewhere deep within
I vascillate between
confusion and consciousness
once again I relax, meditate
for signs, for hope to guide
me past the disgust and sadness
that spill forth as a result
of those choices we made,
those choices that haunt
I mark this almost celebratory day
by a theme of healing
as I light my candles
I bestow a wish upon each
warm, flickering flame
forgiveness, rejuvenation, cleansing

I feel like I should say happy birthday? Because that what this makes me think of, and what a beautiful way to celebrate a birthday, meditating upon these things.

It's not my birthday...not for another few weeks - thank you though....upon another read, it does sound that way though!!
Hugs to you, Cat.

I love this bit, so evocative. And it speaks to my heart for don't we all have choices that haunt.

I guess that healing often starts with forgiveness ... towards ourselves, towards others.

Beautifully written. xxJ

May those candles light your way

Candles are such a lovely symbol of healing, meditation (prayer) or celebration. They provide warmth and soothing and are great for a focal point for meditation purposes.

Just lovely...
