Heads: Pack (or formerly known as Dark Knight)
Long haired cat - alone no pack
strayed territory, again
as she promised she never would
hadn't she learned her lesson
that of the darkness of night?
left her safety sought the friend
left misunderstood
made her way - confused, then stranded
Dark road - tried to run
suddenly surrounded
angry black dogs - hungry
afraid - she meowed, no one to hear
the odor of fear crushed her senses
couldn't flee, couldn't fight
porch princess
was no match for a pack dogs
forced to submission
stripped of everything
even her dime store collar
approaching car dispersed
it was over anyway
ran back to her territory
licking her unseen wounds
hid - alone and curled up
wishing for comfort
long haired cat, the night
is dark ...
and now so is she...
dark.

Is this about something deeper than a cat? I was awful at poetry interpretations in school.
Thanks for playing =)
That was fantastic! I just wrote about backpacks and kids health.
Nice one! I like the metaphor here. It makes for a good song, actually. Well done! Keep writing!!!!
Oh my goodness...this was awesome. Such literary talent you have.
My H o T is HERE. Do come join me if you can find time today.

coolness
Thanks gang...
Skittles, I'll leave that question to the reader. :)
Hmm, words sometimes seem more and yet not. I like this one, Shadow is right- its different from most of your stuff but its good and If I were a Cat, I'd relate well to her wounds.
Btw, I do read your blog, but in Google reader- which does not show up on a blog counter if that's what you were looking for. I just don't have as much time to comment like I used too.
I've even been finding it difficult to find time to respond to all the beautiful & thoughtful comments you & others leave on my blog. Thank you for still being my friend, it does mean alot :)
